Female Friendship

Understanding the
unseen patterns
that shape
connection

Join the Six Week Spiral ~ starts 1st November 2026

What might change if your friendships began to make more sense to you?

The Six Week Spiral offers a place to bring the questions you’ve been carrying,

notice what happens beneath the surface of connection,

and discover a more compassionate way of understanding yourself within it.

You Are Welcome Here

Female friendship is one of the most formative relationships in a woman’s life, yet it remains one of the least honestly explored.

When friendships between women rupture, fade, or wound deeply, the grief is often minimised, unnamed, or carried in silence.

This work offers a different conversation.

One that brings language to what has often remained invisible, helping women understand the relational patterns that shape their friendships, their sense of belonging, and ultimately, themselves.

"Together, we begin by making the invisible visible."

The Hidden Landscape of Female Friendship

We are surrounded by powerful cultural myths about female friendship. The idea of the lifelong best friend. The sister who always understands. The belief that women’s friendships should be effortless, nourishing, and endlessly supportive.

And while friendship can be all of these things, these stories leave little room for complexity, change, disappointment or rupture.

When friendships between women fade, fracture, or wound deeply, the impact is often minimised. Grief goes unnamed. Confusion is internalised. Women are left trying to make sense of experiences for which they have never been given a map.

This work offers that map.

Through the lens of Relational Mapping and Repair, we begin to understand the hidden patterns that shape how we connect, protect ourselves, drift apart, and find our way back to ourselves.

About

Welcome. My name is Kate Reed. I live and work in Northern New South Wales, Australia, on Bundjalung Country.

I work as a Practitioner of Relational Mapping and Repair, helping women understand the often unseen dynamics of female friendship, belonging, and relational rupture.

For more than two decades, I have walked alongside women through circles, counselling, education, and my own lived experience of friendship across many seasons of life. Drawing on relational psychology, attachment theory, somatic awareness, and nervous system informed practice, my work helps make visible the patterns that shape how women relate to one another and, ultimately, to themselves.

'My work is founded on a simple belief: we cannot change what we cannot yet see. By bringing hidden relational patterns into awareness, new understanding, greater self trust, and more conscious choices become possible.'

Work with Me: Private Sessions

Not everything that happens in friendship is easy to name.

Sometimes there is confusion that lingers. A sense of distance that never quite resolves.

Or a pattern that continues to repeat, even when you are trying to do things differently.

These one to one sessions provide a space to map the relational patterns shaping your experience,

bringing clarity to what has often felt confusing or unseen.

Together, we begin by understanding the landscape you are standing in.

From there, new insight, greater self trust, and more conscious choices become possible.
