About Kate

Welcome. My name is Kate Reed.

In this space, I work as a Practitioner of Relational Mapping and Repair, supporting women to understand and navigate the often unspoken dynamics of female friendship, belonging, and relational rupture.

My work focuses on what tends to sit beneath the surface of friendship

Nervous system patterns.

Early relational imprinting.

Power, grief, identity shifts, and the thresholds where connection changes shape.

Together, these influences form the relational landscape we each carry into our lives, often without realising it. By learning to recognise that landscape, women are able to move through friendship with greater clarity, self trust, and discernment.

How This Work Emerged

For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside women as they navigate the complexities of relationship, belonging, and change.

As the founder of The Sister Circles, I have spent decades holding space through circles, facilitator trainings, retreats, and shared experiences of reflection and growth.

Alongside this, I have worked as a counsellor and educator, supporting women through many stages of life.

This work is also deeply personal.

Like many women, I have experienced the beauty of profound female friendships, along with the heartbreak, confusion, and grief that can accompany relational rupture. I have known what it is to question myself, to search for answers, and to long for a way of understanding what often feels invisible.

The questions that many women asked in my circles became the same questions I was asking in my own life.

Rather than turning away from those questions, I became curious.

What are we actually navigating beneath the surface of friendship?

Why do certain patterns repeat?

What shapes the ways we connect, protect ourselves, over give, withdraw, or find our way back to one another?

It was through the intersection of lived experience, professional practice, and years of careful observation that a pattern began to emerge.

Across countless conversations and shared experiences, I witnessed friendships forming, deepening, fracturing, and dissolving, often without the language to understand what was happening.

Again and again, I saw women believing they had somehow failed at relationship, when in truth they were navigating experiences that had never been named.

What became clear was that women were not struggling because they were incapable of relationship. They were struggling because there were no shared maps for understanding the complexity of female friendship, particularly when grief, power, identity change, or nervous system activation entered the picture.

What is often labelled as drama, oversensitivity, or poor communication revealed itself as something far more nuanced.

Invisible forces shape the way we bond, over give, withdraw, protect ourselves, or drift apart.

Our family systems.

Cultural conditioning.

Early relational experiences.

Attachment patterns.

The adaptations we made simply to belong.

These influences shape us long before we become aware of them... and...

We cannot change what we cannot see.

As this understanding deepened, the focus of my work shifted.

Away from trying to fix behaviour and towards helping women orient themselves within the relational terrain they are actually standing in.

Because mapping comes before meaningful change.

So much of our relational pain comes from trying to fix ourselves before we have understood ourselves. Mapping is an act of orientation, not judgement. It allows us to see the patterns we have inherited, adapted to, and carried forward with compassion before deciding what, if anything, needs to change.

Today, my work is devoted to making the invisible visible, restoring dignity to relational pain, and offering women a way to understand themselves and one another with greater compassion, clarity, and choice.

A Grounded, Integrative Approach

This work is grounded in contemporary counselling theory, attachment theory, somatic awareness, and nervous system informed practice. It is informed by both professional training and more than two decades of observing the relational lives of women.

The work offered here is intentionally practical, psychologically informed, and accessible. It is designed to meet women where they are, offering a framework for understanding the relational patterns that shape their lives.

Alongside my academic training, I have spent more than a decade studying ceremonial facilitation, shamanic process, and consciousness based approaches to healing and transformation. These studies continue to inform how I listen, hold space, and work with complexity, while the approach offered here remains grounded, reflective, and applicable to everyday life.
